Will You Go Along With It?

Twenty-five years ago, Americans were faced with a choice: Go along with it – or refuse to go along with it. The majority chose to go along with it and now all Americans are obliged to go along with – assuming they want to be allowed to get on a commercial flight. They must stand in long lines before being processed as if they’d just been arrested for a serious crime. They are required to either go through a scanning apparatus or be physically patted down by a government warder.  Their possessions are rifled through and they are generally regarded with suspicion and know they dare not give voice to outrage, lest they be taken to a room nearby for further interrogation. It is just as if they were being processed into a jail only without having committed (and been convicted of having committed) a crime to warrant it.Will You Go Along With It?

All because the majority chose to go along with it when they had the option – most of them – not to. Had they chosen not to, it is probable we would be able to board a commercial flight today without first having to be processed like criminals. But it was too inconvenient for people to forgo a trip to Disneyland for a few months. So now it’s set in cement that everyone who wants to fly commercially must accept being processed like a criminal.

Five years ago, the same option was presented in a different context. People had the choice to play Sickness Kabuki for the sake of convenience – or refuse to. Once again, a majority chose to go along with it. They donned “masks” that made it appear they agreed with the narrative that a very deadly virus was afoot; one so deadly gyms had to be closed down but Wal-Mart was open for business. They put “masks” on their kids. They accepted being treated as presumptive Typhoid Marys by teenaged door minders at supermarkets and even by their own friends and family members. All because most of them didn’t want to be inconvenienced or “contentious” – meaning they chose to be obsequious and submissive in the face of unprecedented idiocy and tyranny. Will You Go Along With It?

Another choice faces Americans in about five months from now – when the 2027 model year arrives. Per federal law, all new 2027 model year vehicles will be required to have some iteration of “drowsy” or “distracted/impaired” driving abatement “technology.” It will take the form – initially – of eye-movement monitors that tie in with software programmed to recognize – according to the programmed-in parameters – when a driver is not paying attention to the road or nodding off. Initially, this will trigger visual/audible warnings to get the driver to pay attention. The assumption, of course, is that the parameters are in congruence with detecting actually drowsy/distracted/impaired driving. It will be of a piece with the assumption that everyone who wants to board a commercial flight is a presumptive criminal – a “terrorist” – until the government is satisfied he is not and that everyone was a presumptive “asymptomatic spreader” during the so-called “pandemic.”Will You Go Along With It?

In fact, the system will regard any deviation from its parameters as congruent with drowsy/distracted/impaired driving – including looking left/right to maintain situational awareness rather than only looking straight ahead like a blinkered horse. It is also likely that any driving the programming registers as “aggressive” or “unsafe” – such as accelerating or cornering at a faster-than-tepid pace, driving faster than the speed limit, changing lanes without signaling (never mind whether there’s any need to signal) or making a U turn or right-on-red – will be regarded as synonymous with drowsy/distracted/impaired driving.

Initially, it will be just a pestering warning – like all the other pestering warnings one receives when driving any recent model year vehicle equipped with Lane Keep Assist or Brake Assist outside of the programmed in parameters. Will You Go Along With It?

Inevitably, this will transition into something firmer. Because it follows. If it is necessary to pester supposedly drowsy/distracted/impaired drivers, then it is also necessary to do more than just that. So it will be argued, at any rate. And then it will be imposed. More finely, then it will be switched on. I have been trying for years to spread awareness of the fact that most vehicles made since roughly 2015 and almost every vehicle made since about five years ago – with the exception of  small and dwindling handful of models that haven’t been “updated” much over the past 12-15 years – already have the embedded tech and “connectivity” to be remotely controlled by the government-corporate nexus via electronically controlled throttle, braking and steering.

So, here we are again – facing another choice. Will You Go Along With It?

How many will choose to go along with it – by accepting what they are embedding in the 2027 model year vehicles? Will they – for the sake of convenience – choose to buy one? Once again, if a majority do choose that, then in short order the choice not to be monitored, parented and controlled whenever we drive a car will be taken off the table for everyone who buys a new vehicle.

It will perhaps still be possible to avoid being monitored, parented and controlled whenever you go for a drive – but only for so long as you are allowed to drive an older vehicle that lacks the technology to monitor, parent and control you.

How long do you suppose that will be allowed?
